Andrew Billings, 39, of Plymouth, was arrested on Dec. 21, 2023, at his workplace, while the makeshift lab and his SUV on Essex Street in Whitman were searched by state police.

Troopers found large amounts of white powder, thousands of counterfeit prescription pills, a pharmaceutical-grade pill press, and related drug paraphernalia, police said.

“The property was so badly contaminated with strewn drug material, that Troopers evacuated the address,” authorities said.

Inside his car, troopers found hundreds of blue oxycodone pills, police said.

Troopers also found 6 pounds of fake Adderall pills tested to be fentanyl, 27 pounds of fake Xanax tablets, and loose powder tested to be methamphetamine. For context, that's enough to kill potentially millions of people as two milligrams of fentanyl is considered a fatal dose, the Drug Enforcement Agency says.

Billings was arraigned at Plymouth District Court on charges of:

  • Trafficking fentanyl
  • Trafficking methamphetamine
  • Unlawful manufacture of a Class B drug
